Egon Schiele is better at drawing hands than anyone else who has ever drawn a hand……..Yeah, pretty sure.
Egon Schiele, Vienna ca 1915 -by Johannes Fischer [+]
Schiele only rarely had his portrait taken by a photographer, the most impressive images (a serie of 8 portraits in 1914) were made by Anton Josef Trčka, who signed his works with «Antios». Johannes Fischer is the second best known photographer, who portrayed Schiele. In contrast to Trčka’s expressive portraits of the artist, Schiele presents himself for Fischer one year later in a completely different fashion. The images are more classic and unpretentious, even though in this largely unknown portrait, Schiele’s positioning of hands stands out. (from the notice of Westlicht catalogue)
